Nine of our All Ways Caring Caregivers were nominated for the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) 2024 Caregiver of the Year Award. All nine of our outstanding caregivers, stand among the top 500 home caregivers nominated by home care agencies nationwide. This accolade is a testament to their incredible dedication and the exceptional care they provide.

HCAOA received another record-breaking number of nominations for the Caregiver of the Year Award, reflecting the growing commitment to honor and celebrate the dedicated caregivers who provide exceptional care to their clients.

As the United States prepares for a future where nearly 81 million people will be 65 years and older by 2040, caregivers play an indispensable role in supporting the aging population and alleviating the strain on the healthcare system.

This national program spotlights caregivers nationwide who deliver crucial care and support in the comfort of their client’s homes, from assisting with daily tasks like bathing and dressing to providing vital medication reminders for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Jason Lee, CEO of HCAOA, commented, “The increase in nominations this year reflects the profound impact that dedicated caregivers have on their clients’ lives. Through this award, we celebrate the unwavering dedication and the vital role caregivers play in enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.”

Congratulations to all of the 2024 Caregiver of the Year Award nominees, and THANK YOU to the best of the best – our caregivers!

We have to provide what each of those generations might be looking for. I say to our team, ‘You have to go out and find them.’ #COVID stopped us from being out in our communities, and that’s the way you help any generation understand what we do, the importance of it, and why they should come work in this industry.”

All Ways Caring is proud to announce that Tanya McGuire has been honored with the prestigious 2024 DSP
of the Year Award from American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR).

Tanya is an outstanding caregiver and known for always going above and beyond for her clients. She cares for her mother and two other members of her community and works to build relationships that last a lifetime.

Tanya always has her clients’ best interests at heart and advocates for them. She has helped them receive other services and get referrals for medical issues. When clients are given services they don’t understand, Tanya assists and advocates for them, especially when she feels they should be receiving additional services.

Recently, a good friend of Tanya’s who was terminally ill was receiving services. When his daughter couldn’t be there, Tanya stayed with him so he wouldn’t be alone. This is a perfect example of the type of person Tanya is. Her clients know she’s one phone call away, and she makes sure they know she’s always there for them.

DSPs are direct care workers, in-home support workers, or personal attendants who empower individuals with intellectual and development disabilities to live independent, enjoyable and inclusive lives. Since 2007, ANCOR has recognized DSPs from each state who work tirelessly to provide safe, compassionate care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To bolster its veteran workforce, BrightSpring Health Services, in partnership with Soldiers’ Angels, announced its expanded goal to hire 5,000 veterans by 2025. Soldiers’ Angels, a national non-profit that provides support to active military, veterans, and their families, will feature links to a new All Ways Caring HomeCare hiring portal on its website and in its communications, with links to job postings at All Ways Caring locations across the country. All Ways Caring HomeCare is BrightSpring’s personal care line of business with over 150 branches across the U.S. All Ways Caring is the sponsor of the Soldiers’ Angels Women of Valor Program.

“Earlier this year, BrightSpring was proud to have already exceeded our goal from years ago to hire 2,500 veterans by the year 2025. Now, with terrific support from Soldiers’ Angels, we’re doubling that goal to 5,000 hires to help thousands more veterans successfully transition to the civilian workforce and work in a field of great impact,” said BrightSpring President and CEO Jon Rousseau. “We recognize the unique skillset of those who have served in the military, and we’re dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for thousands of veterans and their families.”

“Our veterans have a wealth of experience, knowledge, and dedication that can be put to use when they separate from the military,” said Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “That’s why we’re thrilled to join forces with BrightSpring to help ensure that veterans have access to quality job opportunities in the health care sector. By working together, Soldiers’ Angels and BrightSpring will serve to bridge the gap between our brave men and women in uniform and meaningful employment opportunities to benefit their families, their communities, and our country as a whole.”

Finding a job after leaving the military affects nearly 200,000 veterans each year. The Pew Research Center also reports that only one in four U.S. veterans have a job lined up after separating from active duty.

“At BrightSpring, we want to support veteran employment, as well as service to veterans, any way we can,” added Rousseau. “We look forward to seeing the positive outcome our partnership with Soldiers’ Angels has on connecting accomplished veterans to home and community-based care careers.”

Soldiers’ Angels supports military and veteran families through programs like Warm Feet for Warriors, Holiday Adopt-a-Family, and Women of Valor. In addition to BrightSpring Health Services’ lines of business, their partner companies include USAA, Bank of America, Valero, and others.

All Ways Caring is proud to announce that Jon Ball received the 2022 Idaho DSP of the
Year Award from the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR). Jon was selected out of hundreds of nominees and hundreds of thousands of such caregivers in the country. Nominees are evaluated by ANCOR based on their person-centered nature, leadership in thought and action, relationships built, and innovation in care and service delivery.

Jon has compassion, joy, and positivity in his life, which comes through in his work with the individuals he supports. He brings a sense of peace, creating a comforting calmness and serenity to the individuals.

It’s important to Jon to take the time to get to know the individuals he supports. He utilizes their strengths towards completing their goals and incorporates positive affirmations to redirect the individuals when they exhibit challenging behaviors, which helps them focus and have a calm and clear mind.

Jon works to bring people together, share ideas, and provide assistance when needed. He uses every opportunity to learn and grow – suggestions from the Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional manager, monthly training lessons, continuing education classes, and the people he meets in his community. He uses each moment and experience as an opportunity to learn from others and use it to help those he cares for to learn and grow.

Each year, ANCOR honors a DSP from each state who has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety, well-being and inclusion in the community of the people they support. DSPs serve a critical role in communities nationwide, providing compassionate, quality, and around-the-clock care to individuals with disabilities.

The scholarship is awarded by The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), in partnership with CellTrak, and was created to recognize home care aides who are vital to the industry. The award is distributed throughout November in celebration of National Home Care Month.

Home Care Aide Scholarship Winner

Diamonique Henley, Valdosta, Georgia

Diamonique possesses the compassion needed to be a caregiver. She takes the time to understand the medical complications of each of her clients and she learns how to help each one.

One of Diamonique’s clients suffers from memory loss and sometimes gets sad when she can’t remember things. Diamonique showed the client small memory games and puzzles to help exercise her memory. The client’s daughter was thrilled and asked if she would help with more ideas to help her mother remember to eat. Diamonique created memory boxes with small notes and also set the client’s phone to ring to prompt her to go to the memory boxes.
